Hi, Can you help? Can a puppy use a scratching post like a kitten? our poor pup needs something to bite or scratch.

but make sure you don't give the pup (or any dog) too many raw hide chews as they can really upset the stomach - explosive diarrhea, vomitting etc

the puppy must be on it's teething stage. ask the vet for advise

we have a puppy and we bought him some of those plastic mats - like fake grasss. From the japan home centre or those sorts of places. They are just curled up strings of plastic all meshed together. The pup will naturally dig at that, and to get him/her interested sprinkle a few dog biscuits on it and it will become very focused. Also we have a bed for him that has a cushion that lifts out (got in on cannon st in causeway bay) and he loves digging under that too.

I did not know the thing about the raw hide chews.. is that really the case.. why woudl they do that.

thanks for the explanation about the raw hide. We have a toy puppy so he hasn't even got to being able to chew pieces off the raw hide.. it is just a wet slobbery mess.
